Careing For Tattoos PDF Print E-mail
Once your tattoo is on your body, it is your responsibility. Shortly after you have been tattooed your skin will feel a bit irritated and sensitive. Resist the urge to remove your dressing. Leave it on for two hours.care.jpg

When the time comes, remove your dressing carefully, wash your tattoo gently in warm soapy water and pat dry with a clean soft towel or tissue. Make sure you have removed any dry blood. Do not cover your tattoo again. After a day or two your tattoo will feel dry and tight, apply tattoo goo. The tattoo may develop a light scab and may peel slightly. It will itch. You must not pick it or scratch it. Keep your hands off it (and anyone else's) except to wash it and apply healing ointment.

Do not soak your new tattoo. You can shower but keep it out of the direct sprays of water. Don't swim or sunbathe for at least a couple of weeks. You have to let your new tattoo heal and settle into your skin with as little trauma as possible.

A new tattoo is an open wound -
Treat it with care and common sense.

Does It Hurt ?
DOES IT HURT??
Getting tattooed is more just annoying rather than painful.hurt.jpg

There are areas that are more painful than others are.
We wouldn't recommend that you have your first tattoo on your spine, ribcage or belly. Areas close to the bone hurt more than the padded bits (tops of arm and leg).

We hope you found the information in this leaflet helpful, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
